Hi folks. I hope you are enjoying the winter of 2013/2014 so far. Personally, I hate it and if I could control the weather, I would make it 25 dg C. all year round.
Anyway, todays post is about my love of music. I have mentioned in the past about my favourite bands and how they speak to me. I grew up with a wide variety of music in the house. This was dew in large part to the generational gap between my parents and even my siblings. I am the youngest of 5 and the only boy, plus I am the only one who is blind.
My parents had records by such stars as: The Kingston Trio, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Junior, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins and Burrell Ives. I didn’t mind it but I also went to my sister’s tastes too, when I began to get into rock at the ripe old age of 7. I listened to: Queen, Van Halen, Rush, Led Zepelin, The Beatles and for some stupid reason, Anne Murray.
I grew out of most of my parents tastes in music and found my own bands to like. Thanks in part to the revitalization of rock in the early 80’s, with bands like: Deff Leppard and the continuing rise of Van Halen and up coming bands like Metallica.
My tastes have gone through phases in the 80’s and erly 90’s and they have now become one big mess of music to enjoy.
I stil like the hard rock and metal but I seemed to have developed a jazz fixation too. That could be from my guitar teacher back in the 90’s.
If you like what you read you can email me at and I will read them all. I will hopefully respond to them too. If you would like to be a guest blogger, you can also send me an email to the same address and you just need to let me know that it is for a future blog post. I may or may not edit it, if I feel it is Suitable.
