March Break Then And Now

Hello all and welcome to another blog post. Today, my post is all about March break. March break, the time of year for kids all over the world when we get a break from school for a week without homework and all the other stuff that goes along with it. Also, it is the point at which winter is just about done and spring is on its way. Yet for some reason it is sometimes refered to as a midwinter break. That doesn’t make sense.
When I was a kid I used to go to the CNIB for a March break program there. We would do Krafts and we would sometimes go on a field trip. It was kindof like a summer camp program but it was more or less in doors and well, you get the picture.
These days, all I can think about is the mass exodus to some warm place where there is no: snow, ice or any thoughts of freezing your but off. Then again, the weather can be unusual during this time of year as well. In 2012 we had a massive warm up which lasted over a week and it included thunderstorms and temperatures in the 20’s Celsius or in the 70s or the 80s Fahrenheit. You just never know what the weather will bring from year to year around this time of year.
Not much else I can say about this topic except that I hope those who are flying out of Canada after this brutal winter, have a safe trip to where ever you are going and make it back safe too.
