MMM, Beer On The Simpsons

Hi folks and welcome to another Simpsons Sunday. This week it is all about The Simpsons and beer. Okay, I don’t drink but it is tempting to get some of that Duff down into my system.

Apparently there are many variations on Duff such as: Duff dark, Duff dry, tarter control Duff, raspberry duff and probably many more that I can’t name off hand. In real life, this reminds me of adding things such as Coke and Pepsi to alcoholic beverages as shooters. To be honest, I don’t understand this. I mean, you drink alcohol to get drunk. Right? Now you add a sugary beverage to it. Why? Is it to take your mind off how the beer tastes?

Of course, Homer is a real big consumer of Duff on the show and I think Barney is either tied or a very very very close second. Then again, Barney would try to get his alcoholic fix from anywhere and everywhere he could.

Whether you drink or not, you gotta love Duffman, the mascot for Duff beer. “OH YEAH” and my favourite appearance is his first, when Barney was supposed to get a bottomless jug of Duff and he was the designated driver. Well, I kinda felt sorry for Barney but like any good promotional shill for a company who brews beer, Duffman fully supports the designated driver program. Yes, don’t drink and drive… I don’t and I can’t, because I am blind. However, I could feel the consequences of the actions of such people.

Of course, after Barney got sober, he became addicted to lattes. Well, at least Moe still has Barney as a customer. Albeit, not to buy alcohol from him anymore… at least for a few seasons, when he relapsed.

Well, that’s about it for this post. It’s not much but I don’t drink and don’t care to enjoy the joys of lying down drunk in my own puke. In the mean time, I recommend checking out Chris Ladesma’s blog. He is the Music Editor for The Simpsons and has been since day 1.
I also recommend checking out Yeardley Smith’s blog at
I should also mention Marchez Vous, which is her women’s shoe designer company, which she started earlier in the decade. You can check out their website at
For some strange reason everyone I know hasn’t heard of them yet. Hopefully I can change that.
Additionally, for more news on The Simpsons, you can go to
It is new so, give it time to grow. You can also comment here or you can email me at and I will reply as soon as I can to all messages I receive. I would much prefer getting an email so I can reply directly to you, but that’s just me.
One final thing to mention is that you can follow Simpsons Executive Producer Al Jean on Twitter and his Twitter handle is @AlJean.
He has ran the show since Season 13 and has ran it during Seasons 3 and 4.
Anyway, that is it for this weeks post. Talk to you again on Weather Wednesday.
